Authorities say one person was injured Wednesday when his vehicle collided with the rear of a farm vehicle in rural Hazel Green. 41 year old Jairo Andrade-Aguirre of Hanover was taken from the scene by emergency medical services for treatment. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 151 near mile marker 1 in rural Hazel Green. A release states that Andrade-Aguirre was driving in a Jeep north on Highway 151, as was 19 year old Jackson Gabel of Dubuque, who was driving a tractor hauling a manure spreader. Andrade-Aguirre approached the tractor and spreader from the rear, failing to see it and collided with the rear of the spreader. The spreader then struck the Jeep through the windshield and caused damage to the vehicle and injured Andrade-Aguirre. The crash remains under investigation.
