A 30 year old man has been arrested following a house fire Monday Night at 948 West Cherry Street in Lancaster. Chance Lee Clauer is being charged with Arson and 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety since there was two people in the residence at the time of the fire. It was reported to authorities just before 11pm the fire was in the basement and there was one man inside. A Lancaster Police Officer arrived and met with both victims who were the homeowners. After being asked by authorities what happened, the woman identified Chance Clauer who she believed committed arson and had fled the scene. Both victims were sleeping when the fire started and were woke up by dogs barking and fire alarms. Chance Clauer is being held on a ten (10) thousand cash bond. He returns to court on June 11th.
