A 31-year-old Wauzeka man was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies after authorities say he struck a woman and her dog with his vehicle Sunday morning and fled the scene. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office arrested Donovan Bruns in connection with the hit-and-run incident that occurred Sunday morning on Rhein Hollow Road in Wauzeka. 68-year-old Katherine Oswald of Wauzeka, was walking her dog when she was struck by Bruns’ green 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, according to Sheriff Dale McCullick. Both Oswald and her dog sustained injuries. Emergency responders airlifted Oswald from the scene for medical treatment. After the collision, Bruns fled to Iowa where he took extensive measures to hide and alter his vehicle. Law enforcement located both Bruns and his vehicle and arrested him. Bruns was arrested on suspicion of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, reckless driving causing great bodily harm, duty upon striking a person, and felony obstruction.
