Platteville students at Neal Wilkins Early Learning Center were evacuated from the school building this morning after a gas leak was discovered outside the facility. District Superintendent Jim Boebel said the leak was discovered at about 9 a.m. The students were bused to Westview Elementary School. Classes for the nearly 240 students are continuing as normal. The students of Neal Wilkins will eat lunch at Westview Elementary. Fire crews and maintenance workers continue to repair the leak, which Boebel estimated will take several hours.The Platteville Police Department is encouraging motorists to avoid Broadway Street as repairs continue.
