Members of the Village of Scales Mound board have selected a new president following the resignation of the former office holder. Nicole Busch, a trustee on the village board, was appointed to fill the post vacated by Carrie Stier, who submitted a letter of resignation on July 13th. Both Busch and Stier were elected to their original posts in April. Busch had just begun her second term as trustee. Busch says the village now will seek a replacement trustee to fill her spot. Although both she and Stier were elected in April to four-year terms, because Busch and her eventual replacement are appointed, they will serve only until the next election in 2025. Busch said she intends to continue to serve the village of Scales Mound to the best of her ability with the help of her fellow trustees and village officials.
