Florida Man Charged With Attempted Homicide in Platteville

A Florida man accused of stabbing another Florida man earlier this month near Platteville has been charged with attempted homicide. 43-year old Johnny Simon of Orlando is accused of stabbing and cutting the unidentified man with a broken beer bottle during the early morning hours of September 17th in the 55-hundred block of Southwest Road in Platteville. The Grant County Sheriff’s office says the two men were in Platteville for work. The man who was injured was taken to the hospital and then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Simon is in the Grant County Jail and will next be in court for a preliminary hearing on October 5th.
