A man from Darlington has pleaded no contest after being charged with sex crimes against a child. 25 year old Ruben Hernandez-Alarcon entered a no-contest plea in Lafayette County Circuit Court to a charge of repeated sexual assault of a child. A plea of no contest means the defendant admits no wrong-doing but accepts a given punishment. His sentencing hearing has been set for December 21st. Hernandez-Alarcon was one of several men arrested this year following a monthslong investigation into alleged sexual assaults of underage girls in the Darlington area.
