A southwest Wisconsin man has pleaded guilty to attempted homicide after authorities said he slashed a woman with a knife. 33-year-old Joseph Wallgren of Argyle pleaded guilty in Lafayette County Circuit Court to a charge of attempted first-degree intentional homicide. A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled. A previous press release states that authorities received a 911 call April 11 reporting that a 59-year-old woman had been cut with a knife at a residence in the 100 block of Railroad Street in the Village of Argyle. The woman was transported by ambulance to Monroe Clinic Hospital for treatment of “substantial, but non-life-threatening injuries,” according to the release.
