Two men charged with poisoning and killing a Dodgeville woman were found guilty Monday. Jurors unanimously delivered a guilty verdict for 51 year old Aric Way and his son, 28 year old Phillip Schmidt-Way for first-degree intentional homicide. Aric Way and Phillip Schmidt-Way were accused in the death Way’s mother and Schmidt-Way’s grandmother. Officials said the two used sulfuric acid and formic acid to make carbon monoxide, poisoning the victim. The victim had recently agreed to sell the family farm. Schmidt-Way was set to inherit the farm when his grandmother died.
