County N and NN Re-Open After Heavy Police Presence

The intersection of County Roads N and NN is reopened Friday afternoon after Iowa County authorities were investigating in the area. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office sent an alert out around 1:45 p.m. asking people to avoid the area, which is south of Avoca, noting there was heavy law enforcement presence due to a subject barricaded inside a residence. Officials said earlier Thursday that there was no threat to the public and said the incident was confined to one space. There has been no additional information made available.
