Blanchardville Man Charged With Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle

On Thursday around 10:30 PM Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with an individual who had an outstanding warrant. As a result, 54-year-old Thomas D. Naughtin of Blanchardville was arrested on charges of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of Vehicle stemming from an accident on December 5th, which killed 69-year-old Gary Gruenenfelder of Blanchardville. Naughtin was booked into the Iowa County Jail. During a hearing on Friday, Naughtin’s cash bond was set at $2,500, this was his 6th OWI. As a condition of his bond, he must maintain absolute sobriety, cannot go to any bar, tavern or other establishments whose primary business is alcohol sales, and must submit to remote breath monitoring. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23.
