The southwest Wisconsin parents accused of homicide in connection with the death of their infant child have pleaded not guilty. 23-year-old Maria Guadulupe Atlahua-Aguas and 24-year-old Azariel Aguilar-Gonzalez both of Belmont, recently entered their pleas in Lafayette County Circuit Court. Both are charged with first-degree reckless homicide and physical abuse of a child-repeated acts causing great bodily harm. Court documents state the couple’s three-month-old infant was taken to the Platteville hospital on December 23rd and then to UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, where the child died Dec. 27.
