Inflation has caused girl scout troops in states like New York and Louisiana to raise the price of cookies to $6 this year, but here Thin Mints and Samoas will still cost $5 a box. The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland says their troops sold over a million boxes last year. They’ve been planning since the end of last cookie season to keep the price at $5. According to their Family Cookie Program Guide, the way the cookie crumbles is that $1.45 of each box goes to the Cookie Program and Vendor Costs. $1.32 go to the Rewards the troops and individual scouts get. According to the Badgerland Council, about $1.27 of each box goes to local summer camp properties. 96 cents go to girl scout programming. The Badgerland Girl Scouts will be selling cookies from March 2nd-April 7th. They are still accepting new members.
