Officials took one person to the hospital after a fire to a Green County home. The Green County Sheriff’s Office stated someone reported a fire around 4:45 a.m., on the N1900 block of County Highway OK, about two miles southeast of Juda. Juda Fire Department requested help from additional fire agencies when it arrived to the home, noting both residents got out safely. Crews from rural Monroe, Brodhead, Albany, Monticello, Davis (IL), Rock City (IL) and Orangeville (IL) all responded to extinguish the flames. The Sheriff’s Office indicated the home is considered a total loss. Officials are still determining the cause of the fire. County Highway OK was closed for several hours while crews battled the fire.
