Highway 82 Black Hawk Bridge from Lansing to Wisconsin Closed

The Iowa Department of Transportation has closed the Highway 82 Black Hawk Bridge from Lansing to Wisconsin’s Highway 35 due to concerns about structural integrity. The bridge is about 30 miles north of Prairie du Chien and is the only bridge connecting Wisconsin and Iowa between Prairie du Chien and La Crosse. The Iowa DOT said in a statement that the bridge is expected to be closed until a thorough inspection can be completed to determine if the bridge is safe for travel. The Allamakee County and Crawford County sheriff’s departments advise motorists to plan to use either the Prairie Du Chien or La Crosse area bridges for the foreseeable future.
