The Bloomington Fire Department responded twice on Thursday Afternoon. Fire Chief Tom Hoffman said firefighters were called about 2 pm to the Larry and Jenny Toberman Farm on Meister Road where corn fodder bales were on fire. Approximately 35 bales were destroyed by the blaze. The Patch Grove and Bagley Fire Departments along with the West Grant EMS provided mutual aid.
Hoffman said while authorities were still on the scene-the Bloomington Fire Department around 3:15 pm was notified of a house fire on Budworth School Road. The vacant house and garage owned by David Martin was fully engulfed when authorities arrived and was destroyed. The Lancaster, Cassville and Glen Haven Fire Departments provided mutual aid.
