An Illinois judge has removed former President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot. The surprise move is the latest action based on arguments around the nation involving the “Insurrectionist Ban” under the 14th Amendment. Colorado and Maine have made similar moves. Trump can appeal the judge’s decision in Illinois, but it likely wouldn’t be necessary. In early February, the Supreme Court heard arguments on a ballot case in Colorado. Once the justices decide the matter, it will set a precedent that all states must follow.
