Officials in Iowa County are reminding residents Thursday that spring cleaning is about organizing for yourself- not making a mess for others. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office explained in a Facebook post that someone dumped a fiberglass boat Monday on Helena Lake, on the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, near Arena. Investigators think the boat was illegally dropped off between 2:30-4 p.m. A dark pickup truck was spotted hauling a trailer with the boat on it around the time of the suspected dumping, according to the Sheriff’s Office. It was then unloaded into the lake to sink. Anyone who has information on the abandoned boat was encouraged to call the Department of Natural Resources’ tip line at 1-800-847-9367.
