Prosecutors say a Jo Daviess County woman who worked as a paraprofessional at an area school engaged in a sexual relationship with a student. According to a press release from Jo Daviess County State’s Attorney Chris Allendorf, 42 year old Alycia Deckert of Scales Mound has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The charges stem from an investigation by the Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Department and Elizabeth Police Department regarding Deckert, who reportedly had a sexual relationship with a student under the age of 18. A release does not state the school district with which Deckert was employed. No other information has been made available.
