On February 28th at approximately 10:18 p.m., a deputy with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a sedan in the Village of Gays Mills. The operator of the vehicle was 37 year old Stacy Conner of Gays Mills, and her passenger was 38 year old Edward Lemay of De Soto. During the traffic stop, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Diego was utilized and alerted to the presence of one or more controlled substances within the vehicle. A search was conducted, and discovered were numerous items of drug paraphernalia and hypodermic needles containing suspected Heroin and Fentanyl. Conner and Lemay were taken into custody and brought to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, and bail-jumping.
