Dubuque officials warn of a scam involving waiting lists for income-eligible rental assistance. According to a press release issued by the city of Dubuque, the scam involves an unauthorized group falsely promising shortcuts to the waiting lists. Dubuque’s voucher waiting list only opens the second Tuesday of each month, and the link is only available at cityofdubuque.org/HCV. There are never any fees associated with applying for a voucher waiting list, and applicants are notified of placement on the lists by official letters from Dubuque’s Housing & Community Development Department.
