Cassville man dead following overnight crash

A man from Cassville is dead following a one-vehicle crash during the snow last night. Shortly after midnight this morning the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received an automated crash alert on Settlement Road near Settlement Lane, in Cassville Township. 31-year-old Nicholas Busch, 31, of rural Cassville, had been traveling westbound on Settlement Road, when his vehicle crossed the centerline, left the roadway, and struck a tree. Busch was the only occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing his seatbelt. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Cassville Fire Department, Cassville EMS, and Grant County Coroner’s Office, This was Grant County’s second traffic fatality of 2026.
