Evacuations took place in Dodgeville this morning following a gas leak near the courthouse. According to Dodgeville Police Chief Brandon Wilhem construction crews hit a gas line on W Chapel St around 11 AM Thursday. Around 10 businesses including the courthouse, as well as some additional residences in the area had to be evacuated. Police cleared the scene and had roads re-opened shortly after 2 PM. According to Chief Wilhelm the only impacts to traffic remaining will be in the 100 block of W Chapel St.
