Iowa/Illinois bridge to open Friday

Following an announcement that the bridge between Illinois and Iowa would be closed until next week, the Iowa DOT has announced today that the bridge will reopen on Friday.  All lanes on the bridge will be restored to normal operations at approximately 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. However, the eastbound lane will be closed on working days still. The lane will reopen for the evening commute and non-working days. This traffic pattern will remain in place until late September and allows crews to finish painting the bridge and apply concrete sealers to the deck and rail.
