Following a measles outbreak in Southwest Wisconsin the Iowa County Health Department along with O’Connell Pharmacy is coordinating a community-wide measles vaccine clinic in Mineral Point on Monday, August 24th. The clinic runs from noon to five PM at the Mineral Point EMS Rescue Squad Office. Most insurances are accepted and those without insurance are also welcome. According to health officials the MMR vaccine protects you from measles, mumps, and rubella. Two doses of the is 97% effective at preventing measles. Additionally during the event, the Family Resource Center of Iowa County will have a safety technician on hand to check car seats.
