A Dubuque woman was cited after she left the scene of an accident Sunday morning. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-vehicle crash on Hwy 35/61 north of Kelly Lane, in Paris Township. When deputies arrived on scene, they learned 21-year-old Emma Hastings of Dubuque IA, fell asleep while driving and traveled off the right shoulder into a ditch, where she struck the guardrail and broke approximately 9 posts before coming to rest. Hastings was picked up from the scene and left without reporting the crash. Contact was able to be made with Hastings. She reported no injuries, but was cited for No Insurance, Failure to notify Police of an Accident, and Inattentive Driving.
