The Dubuque County Historical Society (DCHS) and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium has announced the planned retirement of their president and chief executive officer, Kurt Strand. Strand has announced his decision to retire late 2026 or early 2027 after nine years in his position. The board of directors has initiated a succession plan and executive search process to identify Strand’s successor. Strand will remain in his role as president and CEO through late 2026 or early 2027 to assist with the leadership handoff and ensure organizational continuity
