Weather permitting, construction is set to begin on Illinois 84 in Jo Daviess County on Tuesday, Aug. 18, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. The roadway will be resurfaced in the nearly 4-mile work zone between U.S. 20 north of Galena and the Wisconsin state line. There will be daily lane closures during the $3.7 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of November. Motorists can expect delays and should be prepared for slow and stopped traffic, the release states. Area construction details are available at GettingAroundIllinois.com.
