Iowa woman dead following Lafayette County UTV crash

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department has announced that one occupant from a UTV accident on Monday evening has died, there has been no updates on the conditions of the other three occupants. 22-year-old Katherine M. Heimann of Dubuque, IA was operating a UTV westbound on Fox Valley RD when she lost control causing the UTV to roll. Heimann, and the front passenger, 23-year-old Chloe E. Scholtes of Bellevue, IA, were both ejected. Scholtes was MedFlighted to Saint Mary’s Hospital for life threatening injuries sustained in the crash. An update from the Sheriff’s Department states that Scholtes died this [Tuesday] morning from injuries sustained in the crash. Heimann and two juvenile males were also transported by ambulance to the SSM – Monroe Hospital. The juvenile males were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin DNR.
