A disturbance call involving an unwanted person at a Crawford County residence led to a felony stalking charge. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded Wednesday to a residence on Halverson Ridge Road, where 37-year-old James Knowler of Soldiers Grove had reportedly left before they arrived. Deputies later found him in a vehicle in Gays Mills and say he was under the influence of methamphetamine and refused to exit. Knowler was arrested and booked on charges including felony stalking, disorderly conduct, trespassing, resisting arrest and operating under the influence of a restricted controlled substance. He was also placed on a probation hold.
