Darlington Police arrested 31 year old Shayne Riley of Darlington, for felony OWI with children in the car on Wednesday at 3:46 pm. This was Riley’s third OWI offense. Having children in the car enhances the offense to a felony. The children in the car were ages 11, and an infant. The traffic stop occurred at a business on Highway 23 following a phoned-in complaint of a possible drunk driver with children in the car. Riley also faces charges of bail jumping, as he was out of jail on bail for a separate charge he faces. Riley also faces charges of threats to a law enforcement officer as he threatened to assault the arresting officer. Riley remains jailed following the arrest.
