The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for virtually the entire Tri-State area this weekend. The warning will be in effect from 3 p.m. today to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, for an area that includes Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson and Jones counties in Iowa; Jo Daviess County and Stphenson County in Illinois, plus Grant, Iowa, and Lafayette Counties in Wisconsin. The agency is predicting a “significant winter storm” with 4 to 8 inches of snow. The NWS says the precipitation will start as rain, then change to freezing rain and sleet in areas, before turning into snow.
