The Pecatonica River appeared to crest in Darlington around 15.85 feet Thursday afternoon, meaning it did not reach the 16 feet level needed to be considered a major flood stage by the National Weather Service. The Main Street bridge was closed Thursday and part of Friday, but the water has started to recede and the bridge has reopened. Main Street in Darlington has flooded 7 times in the past two years.
