Latu also tallied three solo tackles as the Badger defense held Northwestern to just one touchdown in a 42-7 victory. The win was a first for interim head coach Jim Leonhard and broke Wisconsin’s two-game losing streak.

Latu is the first Badger to win Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week since Leo Chenal took home the honor on October 25 last year. That came after Chenal recorded 9 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in a win over Purdue.
Latu is only the second Big Ten defender to record multiple interceptions during a conference game this year. This is the first time ever that he has been named conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud won Offensive Player of the Week and Illinois kicker Fabrizio Pinton won Special Teams Player of the Week. Pinton was also named Co-Freshman of the Week alongside Maryland linebacker Jaishawn Barham.
The Badgers are on the road again next weekend to take on Michigan State but return to Camp Randall on October 22 to take on Purdue for Homecoming.
