The FBI is warning consumers about “juice jacking” – bad actors using public chargers to infect phones and devices with malware. Wisconsin DATCP’s Director of Consumer Protection Micheal Domke says that using your own cable, and if possible use your own charger box and cable with it, is the best way to keep you devices safe. Warning signs you’ve been juice jacked include being unable to access some apps. Worst case scenarios include new credit card charges you didn’t make, or missing funds from your accounts.
