Platteville Inclusive Playground Opens Saturday

After several months of planning, fundraising, and construction, the Platteville Inclusive Playground will have its Grand Opening tomorrow from 10am to 2pm. Events being with a brief celebration and ribbon cutting at 10am followed by kids enjoying the playground at Smith Park.  There will be a variety of free and fun activities with Bingo from about about 10:15 am to 11:15 am and multigenerational yoga starting at about 12:40 pm. There will also be face painting, sidewalk chalk and balloon artists. There will be food for purchase as the Platteville Optimists will be grilling on the brand new grills and there will be several food trucks and vendors there as well. Much of the cost of the $2.3 million project was covered by a Community Development Block Grant with the remainder being picked up in city pledges and community fundraising through Inspiring Community Inc. and the Platteville Inclusive Playground committee.
