An Iowa man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing a Grant County woman in 2021. 48 year old James Klever, formerly of Mount Ayr, Iowa, was sentenced in Iowa District Court of Polk County following his conviction of first-degree murder in the death of 30 year old Rachel Reuter of Cassville. First-degree murder in Iowa carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison. A report says that Reuter was reported missing on June 16, 2021. Investigators later found that Reuter and Klever were at an Urbandale, Iowa, motel together and left at about 11:40 a.m. June 12, 2021. Reuter had not been seen since. Investigators, as well as both the defense and prosecutors at his trial, stated that Klever killed Reuter at a home in Bondurant, Iowa, on June 13, 2021.
