Head-On Collision in Grant County

On Friday, just after 11pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a head-on collision on County Highway D in the Township of Platteville. The incident involved two vehicles, resulting in severe injuries and the arrest of one driver. 20 year old Abraham Runde of Cuba City was traveling southbound on County D when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a car driven by a 17 year old female from Platteville. Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies conducted an investigation and determined that Runde was under the influence of an intoxicant and was subsequently arrested. Further inquiry revealed that Runde’s license was suspended. Runde has been charged with Great Bodily Harm by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, Knowingly Operating While Suspended, Causing Great Bodily Harm, and operating left of center. Runde was booked into the Grant County Jail.
