The Iowa County Communication Center received a traffic complaint near the northbound Exit 40, on Highway 151 in the Mineral Point township Saturday shortly after 4am. An initial report indicated that a vehicle was witnessed in the median and persons in the vehicle were unconscious. The driver of the vehicle then woke up and drove out of the median and continued northbound. Mineral Point Police observed the vehicle and stopped the vehicle until Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene. As a result, 29 year old Aldair Juarez Romero of Platteville was arrested and charged with Operating While under the Influence–2nd offense, Ignition Interlock Device Tampering and Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device/Violating a Court Order, and Operating without a valid driver’s license-2nd Offense within 3 years. Juarez-Romero is also being held on an Out of County Warrant. Juarez Romero was taken to the Iowa County Jail where he remains in custody.
