Authorities say a motorcyclist was seriously injured Wednesday in a collision with a vehicle in Grant County. 52 year old Michael Cockroft of Livingston was taken by ambulance to Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital before being airlifted to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse for treatment of serious injuries. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, 19 year old Brady Hammell of Boscobel was driving west on County Highway T near U.S. Highway 61 in Hickory Grove Township at around 4:55 a.m. Wednesday when he failed to stop at a stop sign and turned south onto the highway in the path of Cockcroft’s motorcycle, which was traveling north on U.S. Highway 61. Hammell was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign causing great bodily injury.
