Greeted by the cheers of more than 1,000 supporters, former president Donald Trump urged his supporters help him earn back his seat at the White House during a stop in Maquoketa and Dubuque on Wednesday. In Dubuque, Trump started speaking around 3:30 p.m. at the Grand River Center where he emphasized the importance of the 2024 election and defended his leads in Iowa polls despite his recent indictments. The current Republican presidential candidate is working to garner support ahead of the Iowa Republican caucuses on Jan. 15 as he seeks to win re-election to the presidency in 2024. Throughout his speech, which lasted more than an hour, Trump reiterated his belief that the country only has declined since he left office and that only his re-election can curb that trend.
