A Dubuque man has pleaded guilty to a sex crime against a child. 34 year old Billy Dotson pleaded guilty to one count of lascivious acts with a child by solicitation in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County. His sentencing hearing is set for Oct. 16. Dotson inappropriately touched a child under the age of 10 who he knew last year at an Asbury residence. The victim reported the incident to a school teacher shortly after, and it was forwarded to police for investigation. On Sept. 1, a jury found Dotson also guilty of third-degree sexual abuse, attempted second-degree burglary, assault while participating in a felony and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse in a separate incident. Sentencing for those charges also is set for Oct. 16.
