Southern Wisconsin could soon be home to a first-of-its-kind sustainable energy source. Alliant Energy says its Energy Dome, which is planned to be built near an existing power plant south of Portage, will be a cost-effective and simple solution to lowering human emissions. A report says a video produced by Energy Dome, an Italian based company, shows the process of carbon dioxide being compressed into a liquid form. The liquid CO2 is then stored until needed. As the liquified form transitions back to gas, it powers a generator creating electricity. Alliant says the process is the future of how we will power our energy grid.
