Authorities say a fire destroyed a vehicle and damaged a barn Wednesday in Cascade. Firefighters were dispatched at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday to a vehicle fire near an old barn on Polk Street NE. A report says a firefighter who lived nearby used a garden hose to keep the fire under control until firefighters arrived. The vehicle was destroyed but damage to the barn was limited to the exterior walls. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were on the scene for an hour and a half.
