Officials said Western Dubuque High School was locked down this afternoon after an anonymous threat was made, but they later determined there was not an immediate threat to the campus. Western Dubuque Community School District Superintendent Dan Butler said in a press release at about 2:30 p.m. that the lockdown came after “an anonymous call was received regarding a potential threat on the school premises.“ Butler said the investigation is suggesting the call originated from outside of the United States and is not an immediate threat to the campus. Butler said school administrators immediately collaborated with local law enforcement to follow safety protocols.
