Officials in Crawford County received a grant that will allow then to get a new mobile command center. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office Department of Emergency Management said in a release Tuesday they’ve been awarded $300,000 from the Rural and Small Department Violent Crime Reduction Program. Crawford County will use that grant to buy and customize a new advanced mobile command center. The command center is typically housed in a large vehicle or trailer and can be equipped with computer systems, communications devices, surveillance equipment and mapping tools. It’s meant to give responders easy access to critical resources that help manage violent crime incidents and emergency situations effectively and efficiently.
