A Dubuque man was sentenced Friday to up to 10 years in prison after police said he pointed a loaded gun at a man and pulled the trigger, though the gun did not fire. 30-year-old Randell Heine received the sentence after pleading guilty to the charges of second-degree burglary, domestic assault while using or displaying a weapon, use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime and operating while intoxicated. According to terms in the plea deal, charges of attempted murder, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and possession of or carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence were dismissed.
