An incumbent Dubuque City Council member retained his seat in a contested election Tuesday, while two more incumbents without opponents also kept their spots. City Council Member David Resnick defeated challenger Kelly Lucas to earn another four years on the council. This will mark Resnick’s fifth term on Dubuque City Council. He said Tuesday night he looks forward to spending another four years on the council. Incumbents Katy Wethal and Laura Roussell also were reelected to the Dubuque City Council on Tuesday in uncontested races. Wethal, who represents Ward 4, received 1,464 votes, while Roussell, who represents Ward 2, garnered 1,804 votes.
