Police said a Dubuque man struck an area teen with a firearm and physically assaulted another.

19-year-old Anthony Hunt a resident of the state correctional facility at on Elm St., was arrested at 1:58 a.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Walnut Street on a warrant charging assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and domestic assault. Authorities received a call May 10th from a Dubuque mother who wanted to report an assault against her 16-year-old son. The boy told officers Hunt approached him “as if he wanted to fight” before striking the teen in the face with a gun. Around that time Hunt also physically assaulted a second 16-year-old, with whom he shares a child. Hunt is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, Nov. 16.
