A new brewery in Platteville has announced it is closing after being in business for just three months. UpDraft Brewery, which opened in mid-August, officially closed Thursday after the business failed to generate enough sales, said owner John Patakos. The brewery, which was located on Chestnut St., opened after nine months of building renovations. Despite positive feedback from customers, the business failed to generate an adequate number of sales. It has not determined what will happen with the brewery but said he has received calls from people interested in purchasing the building, the brewing equipment or both. Eight people were employed at the brewery at the time of its closing.
